First off I like listening to the radio and have been listening since Steve Clark on WKFR "Keener 14". I can remember staying up to listen to "Keener 14" till I fell asleep and in the morning listening for school closing winter time yes, and I never felt like color was an issue while listening to Steve Clark the Wolfman Jack Show. But when President-elect Obama became the #1 player in the Senate.
Now I here a lot of negative radio hosts talking down about President-elect Obama just to make a come up with there ratings. Huh!...what about the listeners like me who don't want to here this just be ready for your time...Like Martha Stewart kept moving on and the media played with the idea but there where bigger fish to fry. No one said really too much and thats how it goes. OJ just couldn't stop running, why your guess is good as mine.
I say this to say I don't like to here negative talk it kills our community more than drugs. Negative talking will find some sh&t everytime. Like misery loves company. Our town like everyother town needs some unity first. My grandmother and some other people started a church name just that. "Unity Missionary Baptist Church" next door to Washington elementary school. Now don't think for one second that I'm trying to do something positive I helped Howard Wolpe get into office around 1978...Later as years went by I even ran for City Commissioner in the home town...old controlling women running the town stopped that.
Then I started Raven News Paper that did good for awhile but not a lot of support. Worked in the community and so many other things. But that is just what I'm doing now. What we can still do together like class of 82, 83, 84. good people.
If we all do and think positive we can change. I believe that Radio people should be focusing on solutions and bringing people together. Being a black man and hearing a radio station still having a problem with a black president assures me there stuck in that RadioZone...
